COMSOL Examples

COMSOL Multiphysics is a finite element analysis, solver and multiphysics simulation software. COMSOL provides a unified workflow for electrical, mechanical, fluid, acoustics, and chemical applications. COMSOL platform spans all steps of the modeling workflow: from creating geometries, specifying material properties and physical phenomena, to solving and postprocessing to produce accurate and trustworthy results.

Rescale’s platform can be used to conveniently run COMSOL simulations across many cores to reduce compute time drastically. It provides additional functionality like easy connection to COMSOL Multiphysics Server.

Kármán Vortex Street Example

An unsteady simulation of flow past a cylinder using the COMSOL Multiphysics CFD module. The Reynolds number based on the cylinder diameter is 100 and is low enough for a Kármán Vortex Street to form. This model and documentation is available directly from COMSOL.
