ANSYS Fluent T-Junction Mixing Example

ANSYS Fluent is a powerful Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software with broad physical modeling capabilities needed to model fluid flow, turbulence, heat transfer, and chemical reactions for industrial applications. It includes a wide range of turbulence models (Including LES) and multiphase models to accurately simulate a wide range of physical phemomena.

This is a simple model of a t-junction with a hot water and cold water inlet, with mixing and calculation of temperature at the outlet. This example has been configured to output a graph of the residual plot every iteration.

ANSYS Fluent Combustion Example

ANSYS Fluent also has turbulent combustion modelling capabilities including models like Eddy Dissipation Concept (EDC) and Probablitly Density Function (PDF). Turbulent combustion simulations can be computationally intensive and Rescale's platform can be conveniently used to run these models across multiple cores and manage the results with its easy workflow.

This is a simple 2-D axisymmetric model of a cylindrical combustor where the flame is considered as a turbulent diffusion flame. A small nozzle in the center of the combustor introduces methane at 80 m/s. Ambient air enters the combustor coaxially at 0.5 m/s.

ANSYS Mechanical Example

ANSYS Mechanical is the flagship mechanical engineering software solution that uses finite element analysis (FEA) for structural analysis. It is widely used in many industries like automotive, aerospace, construction, heavy industries etc. Complex ANSYS Mechanical models can be run on Rescale in batch mode providing significant speedup in computational time and enabling easy workflows to the user base.

This example is based on static structural anslysis of a crankshaft with applied forces of 200 N and 500 N on the crank arms.

ANSYS HFSS Example

ANSYS HFSS is a 3D electromagnetic (EM) simulation software for designing and simulating high-frequency electronic products such as antennas, antenna arrays, RF or microwave components, high-speed interconnects, filters, connectors, IC packages and printed circuit boards. Its reliable automatic adaptive mesh refinement lets you focus on the design instead of spending time determining and creating the best mesh. HFSS has frequency sweeps capabilities (Single or Broadband) and solvers which can be accelerated through high performance computing (HPC) technology. Rescale's platform can be used to run such computationally intensive HFSS simulations and manage your results efficiently.

This example is a cutout section of a PCI Express Gen 3 printed circuit board. The study is a single frequency sweep to calculate the S-parameters of the section edges.

ANSYS CFX Example

ANSYS CFX is a high-performance computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software tool that delivers reliable and accurate solutions quickly and robustly across a wide range of CFD and multi-physics applications. CFX is recognized for its outstanding accuracy, robustness and speed with rotating machinery such as pumps, fans, compressors, and gas and hydraulic turbines.

This is a simple rotating flow model of an impeller inside an open mixing tank with containing baffles. We examine the distribution of the fluid flow as a constant stream of air is injected into a water tank.

ANSYS Maxwell Example

ANSYS Maxwell is the industry-leading electromagnetic field simulation software for the design and analysis of electric motors, actuators, sensors, transformers and other electromagnetic and electromechanical devices. Maxwell uses the accurate finite element method to solve static, frequency-domain, and time-varying electromagnetic and electric fields. A key benefit of ANSYS Maxwell is its automated solution process, for which you are required to specify only geometry, material properties and the desired output.

This example is based on a magnetostatic analysis of a rotational actuator. It is a parametric study of torque and inductance characteristics vs. position with an excitation current of 675.5 A

ANSYS Savant Example

Savant provides highly efficient EM analysis of antennas on electrically large platforms. Using the Shooting and Bouncing Rays (SBR) technique, Savant yields full antenna scattering prediction for geometries that are thousands of wavelengths in size, computing far-field radiation patterns, near-field distributions, antenna-to-antenna coupling Savant picks up where and accurately.

This example is based on a simulation of wide-band antenna coupling (isolation) between two antennas located on an E-2C aircraft. A multi-layered dilectric medium is defined for different parts.
