Platform Updates and Software Release Notes – August 2020

Here are a few recent highlights:

Singularity 3.6 – Singularity is a free, cross-platform and open-source computer program that performs operating-system-level virtualization also known as containerization.  One of the main uses of Singularity is to bring containers and reproducibility to scientific computing and the high performance computing world.  Learn more here.

RELION 3.1 – RELION, for REgularized LIkelihood OptimizatioN, is an open-source computer program for the refinement of macromolecular structures by single-particle analysis of electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) data.  Learn more here.

Siemens Simcenter Amesim 2020.1 – Simcenter Amesim is a commercial simulation software for the modeling and analysis of multi-domain systems.  It is part of systems engineering domain and falls into the mechatronic engineering field.  The software package is a suite of tools used to model, analyze and predict the performance of mechatronics systems.  Learn more here.

M-Star CFD 2.8.1 – M-Star CFD is a modeling and simulation tool for engineers and researchers that provides highly accurate and detailed insights into complex fluid flow.  Learn more here.

OpenFOAM v8 – OpenFOAM is a C++ toolbox for the development of customized numerical solvers, and pre-/post-processing utilities for the solution of continuum mechanics problems, most prominently including computational fluid dynamics.  Learn more here.

Virtual Performance Solution 2020 esi – ESI Virtual Performance Solution (VPS) is known for its end-to-end virtual prototyping of structures, as it accounts for the manufacturing and assembly process for performance prediction.  Learn more here.
